Norbert Haupt

President/CEO

Norbert Haupt is the president and CEO of Controltec.

Besides leading and operating the company, Norbert works in marketing and business development, defining and delivering systems for childcare subsidy programs. He is a nationally recognized industry expert, has spoken at national conferences on topics related to childcare subsidy administration and childcare fraud detection and prevention.

Under Norbert’s leadership, Controltec has established itself as one of the premier companies serving childcare subsidy administration, with systems installed in many states and local agencies.

Prior to starting Controltec in 1993, Norbert was a software engineer and engineering manager serving various industries with embedded systems and factory automation solutions.

Favorite part of the job?

I often tell young people that ask for career advice to choose something they like to do. After more than 25 years at Controltec, I really haven’t had to “work.” Every day is different, every day brings new challenges and new opportunities. The creative aspect of my job keeps me motivated and enthusiastic.

Outside the office?

I try to read at least an hour every day, alternating between technical, science and cosmology books in the non-fiction area, and classics as well as lots of science fiction and especially time travel stories on the fiction side. I review every book I read. I am also an oil painter, but I don’t get to do nearly enough of that. When I have time, I hike and climb, preferably tough mountains.

Rich Powell

VP of Development

Rich Powell, VP of Development, has been with the company for over 20 years.  He is the chief architect of  the company’s applications and manages our team of developers.

Before working at Controltec, Rich spent time working in several vertical markets including machine control and computerized parking systems.

Favorite part of the job?

I work with a great group of people that feel like an extended family.

Outside the office?

I  enjoy spending time with my family, photography, playing the guitar, cooking and working out.

Darlene Trujillo

Manager, Support & Training

Darlene M. Trujillo is the Manager for our Training and Customer Service department.  She is responsible for the daily operations of the support department staff and for the supervision of our dedicated customer service team members in the California, Ohio, Missouri and New York offices.

Graduated from San Diego State University,  Darlene was previously employed at a non-profit subsidized childcare agency for 8 years before joining the Controltec team.  Darlene is dedicated to keeping the support department operating in an efficient manner, to increase customer satisfaction, loyalty and retention and to meet client expectations.

Why Controltec?

For the past 12 years Controltec has been a great company to work for. I couldn’t ask for a better place to come to work every day.

Favorite part of the job?

Assisting our customers so that they can achieve the best use with our products.

Outside the office?

Spending time with my family and watching/attending sporting events.

Amy Zuniga

Manager Reporting & Analytics

After graduating from National University in 2007 with a bachelors in Computer Science, Amy began her career in the software industry at Controltec as a report writer. Currently the Manager of Reporting & Analytics, she enjoys using her knowledge of the products and best practices to drive continuous improvement within the reporting team.

For the last 5 years Amy served as Development Operations Manager for the leading provider of data management, visualization, and payment solutions in the T&E Industry in the US.  Prior to working at Controltec she was a licensed childcare provider for 12 years, which gives her a strong understanding of our products.

Brenner Hill

Software Manager

Brenner graduated with a degree in Computer Science from California State University Stanislaus in 1998. After college, Controltec is where Brenner began his career in software engineering.

Currently, Brenner is the Software Development Manager at Controltec where he leads a small team of talented individuals who produce great products for their customers.

Throughout the years, Brenner has worked in various capacities (Developer, Lead Architect and Manager) in various areas of the software industry including: Power Generation Control Automation, BioTech Imaging and Pathology and Automotive Wireless Communication.

Why Controltec?

I love the small company environment. You get to wear a lot of hats (if you want to 😊) and experience a lot of different aspects of software development.

The small teams facilitate agility and allow us to adapt and solve problems quicker than larger companies.

Favorite part of the job?

That’s easy, being part of a team that produces quality software on time!

Outside the office?

In my free time, which is limited with 3 small children 😊, I enjoy camping, live music, cooking, lifting weights and card magic.

Chris Raymer

Product Manager

Chris Raymer has extensive experience managing, designing, and developing systems from inception to completion.  Chris joined Controltec in 2005, managing its operations until 2007.  After a brief absence, he rejoined Controltec in 2010, leading a team that designed the company’s biometric system.  Since then, he has contributed to the update and design of Controltec’s many products, and continues to manage product design and integration.

During his career, Chris has managed financial programs and investments at a public university, was managing partner for a successful engineering firm that manufactured revenue systems for major US airports, and helped develop systems for both 911 telephony systems and childcare administration.

Controltec truly cares about its customers and makes the effort to deliver the best products to them.

Favorite part of the job?

With Controltec, I have the opportunity to work with top people, who strive to make a difference for the customers we serve.

Outside the office?

I spend much of my free time training a dog who feels our roles should be reversed.  I enjoy painting watercolors, struggle with acrylics and oils, and play golf occasionally to remind myself why I don’t play more often.

Glenda Williams

Quality Assurance Manager

Glenda has been with Controltec for 9 years and is the manager of Quality Assurance for all software products developed by the company.

After managing all aspects of software testing for our California and New York projects, Glenda expanded her team making it possible to rollout three statewide projects in 1.5 years.

Though her expertise is in meeting the challenging and comprehensive needs of Quality Assurance, Glenda has had other careers in Radiology and Massage Therapy.

I enjoy the company spirit, it’s small enough to have a ‘family’ feel about it yet large enough to be an extremely challenging and exciting place to work.

Favorite part of the job?

Working with my amazing team and co-workers, finding bugs and being the go-to person in all matters related to our software.

Outside the office?

I enjoy staying healthy and fit, live music, dancing, karaoke, yoga and my 3 cats.

Lynn Sanger

Office HR Manager

Lynn comes to Controltec with 16 years of Early Childhood Education experience. With a BA in Early Child Education and a Masters Degree in Organizational Management, Lynn is able to effectively manage the Controltec office operations.

As our contracts manager, Lynn initiates the onboarding of new clients, as well as all human resource duties and benefit administration.

I enjoy spending time with my  family camping, jet skiing, and any activity that involves eating food!

Trisha Landoni

Marketing Manager

Trisha oversees the marketing and sales department, including product demonstrations, conference attendance, outreach and customer care.

With over 25 years’ experience and a bachelor degree in the child care industry, Trisha has experience in every aspect from direct care to administering large social service programs. She has a comprehensive understanding of the needs of our clients and how best to reach out to those in the field.
